I always wanted to be a church planter
Right from the time that I first became a Christian, I have always been passionate about evangelism and church planting. In my late teens and early twenties, I had the privilege of being on the Students for Christ team on university campuses in Victoria, Australia.
But as with many people life got busy after university and I worked hard on building my career, got married, had kids and stayed committed to my local church. But all along I still had this constant feeling that I wanted to make a difference, not in some small way but in a significant and meaningful way. I wanted to advance the Kingdom and have a global impact. But how do you do that when you have deadlines to meet and just the normal challenges of life.
It was at that time that my wife Rebekah and I became a part of the metamorphic movement. A movement that empowered us to be involved in church planting across the globe. This has been extremely liberating because now we are able to continue to use our gifts in the business and commercial world while being fully engaged in our primary passion which is to see people won into the Kingdom. We are now able to steward our gifts, talents and resources in such a way that we can build a strong base here in Sydney for our family and plant multiple churches around the world at the same time in partnership with others that are a part of the metamorphic church planting movement.
Since becoming a part of the movement, Rebekah and I and our family have been able to be involved in planting more than thirty churches and see over 4,000 souls come into the Kingdom.
Like many people in the movement, Rebekah and I are just ordinary people who have embraced our opportunity and watched what God can do through us and in us as we live in His blessing.
And that desire I had many years ago to be a church planter. Well its happening right now.
We are church planters.
